Sushanta Biswa Sarma Elected Vice President of Assam Olympic Association for 2024-2028 Term
Guwahati, 25th September: Sushanta Biswa Sarma, a senior Assam Police officer and former Ranji Trophy cricketer, has been elected as the Vice President of the Assam Olympic Association (AOA) for the 2024-2028 term. Currently serving as the Superintendent of Police in Barpeta, Sarma’s election underscores his longstanding dedication to sports and his efforts to uplift athletics in the state.
In addition to his cricketing career, Sarma has played a pivotal role in the sports community, previously serving as President of the Assam Volleyball Association. His combined expertise in sports and administration is expected to drive strategic initiatives within the AOA.
As Vice President, Sarma will collaborate with the association’s leadership to enhance sports development in Assam. He will oversee the organization of sporting events and ensure the state’s athletes are represented at national and international competitions.
