Indra Sena Reddy Nallu Takes Oath as Governor of Mizoram

Northeast Desk, 30th September: Indra Sena Reddy Nallu was sworn in as the Governor of Mizoram on September 30, taking additional charge while continuing as the Governor of Tripura. The oath of office was administered at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan in Aizawl by Justice Nelson Sailo of the Gauhati High Court.

Nallu will serve as Governor “during the absence on leave” of the incumbent Governor, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati. The warrant issued by the President of India was read out by Chief Secretary Dr. Renu Sharma during the ceremony.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by several prominent figures, including Chief Minister Lalduhoma, Speaker Lalbiakzama, Home Minister K. Sapdanga, Cabinet Ministers, state Ministers, Lok Sabha MP, Chief Secretary, and Director General of Police, among other special invitees.

Born on March 31, 1949, in Ganuga Banda Village, Nalgonda District, Telangana, Indra Sena Reddy Nallu was a three-time legislator in undivided Andhra Pradesh in 1983, 1985, and 1999. He served as the BJP state president in 2003 and was appointed the party’s national general secretary in 2014. He is married to Renuka Nallu, and they have three sons.
