Security Forces Intensify Operations in Manipur, Recover Improvised Weapons
Northeast Desk, 4th October: In a continued effort to restore stability, security forces in Manipur have ramped up search operations across vulnerable areas in both the hill and valley districts. During a targeted operation in Donjang village, located in Churachandpur District, personnel recovered three improvised medium-sized canons, locally known as “Pumpis,” along with two unexploded Pumpi shells. This recovery underscores the ongoing security challenges in the region, which has been marked by heightened tensions.
Simultaneously, security forces worked to ensure the movement of essential goods, facilitating the safe passage of 251 vehicles along National Highway-37 and 206 vehicles on NH-2. In light of potential threats, strict security measures were implemented to protect the transit routes, particularly in sensitive zones, ensuring the uninterrupted flow of essential supplies to affected areas.
As part of their broader operations, 109 Naka checkpoints were established across the state to monitor and prevent illegal activities. Notably, no violations or arrests were reported, reflecting a successful day in maintaining law and order throughout the state.
The continued efforts of security forces are crucial in stabilizing Manipur and ensuring the safety of its residents, as the state navigates through ongoing challenges.
