Arunachal Pradesh CM Announces 2nd Edition of Tawang Marathon, Set for October 24, 2024

Northeast Desk, 4th October: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu officially announced today that the 2nd edition of the highly anticipated Tawang Marathon will take place on *October 24, 2024, inviting runners from across India to participate in this unique high-altitude event. The marathon, co-organized by the *Indian Army and the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, will challenge athletes to race at 10,000 feet above sea level, surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of the Tawang region.

Known for its natural beauty, Tawang, often called the “land of mystic mountains,” offers a one-of-a-kind racing experience that celebrates both endurance and the region’s pristine environment. The marathon is an initiative to showcase the rich cultural diversity and natural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh.

To build momentum for the event, a Promo Run featuring the marathon’s official mascot, *TABOS, will be held in *Itanagar on October 13, 2024. This pre-event celebration aims to engage the community and excite participants for the main marathon.

Speaking about the significance of the marathon, Khandu said, “The Tawang Marathon is more than just a race; it symbolizes our nation’s spirit of freedom and unity. We invite everyone to join us in celebrating our rich cultural diversity and democratic principles.”

With participants set to experience the thrill of running through one of India’s most scenic regions, the Tawang Marathon promises to be an unforgettable event for all who take part.
