Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh Assures Action to Prevent Influx of Illegal Migrants

Northeast Desk, October 5: In light of concerns over the rise of illegal migrants in neighboring states, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has reassured the public that his government is taking proactive measures to protect the state from a potential influx.

Addressing the issue, CM Singh stated that key entry points into Manipur, such as Mao Gate and Jiribam, are now under intensified surveillance to prevent unauthorized migration. This comes as a response to reports of illegal migrants being detected in states adjacent to Manipur.

“In response to the detection of illegal migrants in our neighboring states, I want to assure you that the Government of Manipur has proactively taken steps to safeguard the state,” Singh said. He emphasized that the government is fully committed to maintaining strict vigilance at entry points and urged the people of Manipur to remain alert to any suspicious activities.

“We call upon all citizens to act responsibly, report any suspicious behavior, and work with authorities to ensure the security of the indigenous communities and preserve the integrity of our state,” Singh added.

The chief minister’s reassurance aims to calm public concerns and demonstrate that the state government is addressing the potential risks associated with illegal migration, especially at key entry zones.
