Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi Criticizes PM Modi’s Waning Influence in State Elections
National Desk, 7th October: In a pointed critique of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s declining impact on state elections, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi asserted that the Prime Minister is no longer a decisive force in Vidhan Sabha contests. Speaking on the current political scenario, Gogoi remarked, “There was a time when PM Modi would even campaign for Delhi’s municipal elections, but today, his presence has become more of a liability than an asset.”
Gogoi highlighted the government’s economic policies as a significant factor in Modi’s diminishing appeal, attributing rising unemployment and inflation to what he described as “failed economic strategies.” He emphasized that these issues are not confined to one state or region, stating, “The problems of joblessness and rising prices have intensified nationwide. This is a growing reality across Vidhan Sabha elections throughout the country.”
The Congress leader also criticized the BJP’s “double-engine government” narrative, arguing that it has consistently favored large industrialists over the public interest. He accused the government of being “perpetually off-track” and out of sync with the needs of the people.
Looking ahead to future elections, Gogoi expressed confidence in the Congress Party’s prospects, predicting a resurgence in both Haryana and other states. “You will see the Congress flag flying high in the upcoming elections,” he concluded, signaling a bold vision for the party’s future.
Gogoi’s remarks come as India gears up for a series of state elections, where the Congress hopes to gain ground amid growing public discontent with the BJP’s governance model.
