Sikkim: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to Visit Gangtok for High-Profile Engagements on October 11

Northeast Desk, 9th October: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to visit Gangtok, Sikkim, on October 11 for a series of significant engagements focusing on military activities and regional development.

The visit will commence with Singh arriving at Bagdogra Airport, Darjeeling, before heading to Gangtok via helicopter.

Singh’s key engagements will begin with attending the Army Commanders’ Conference at the Headquarters of the 17 Mountain Division, where discussions on national security and the operational readiness of the division will take center stage.

After the conference, Singh will join troops for a Barakhana lunch at Samridhi Complex, aimed at boosting the morale of soldiers stationed in the region.

Later in the day, at 4 PM, the Defence Minister will inaugurate the newly constructed Prerna Sthal in Gangtok, which is anticipated to become a symbol of inspiration for the people of Sikkim.

The evening will conclude with a cultural programme at Samman Bhawan, followed by dinner.

Singh is expected to stay overnight at the guest house of the 17 Mountain Division before departing the following day.
