Union Government Disburses Rs 1,78,173 Crore to States Ahead of Festive Season

Sikkim: In a significant move to bolster development and welfare initiatives, the Union Government has released Rs 1,78,173 crore to state governments across India as the festive season approaches. Sikkim has received Rs 691 crore as part of this allocation.

The released amount includes an advance instalment of Rs 89,086.50 crore, in addition to the regular October devolution. This advance is intended to accelerate capital expenditure, enabling states to fund crucial development projects and welfare programs during the festive period.

Other northeastern states have also benefited from this substantial release. Assam received the largest share in the region, totaling Rs 5,573 crore, followed by Arunachal Pradesh with Rs 3,131 crore. The allocations for the remaining northeastern states include Manipur at Rs 1,276 crore, Meghalaya at Rs 1,367 crore, Mizoram at Rs 891 crore, Nagaland at Rs 1,014 crore, and Tripura at Rs 1,261 crore.

These funds are expected to empower the northeastern states to enhance infrastructure projects and implement various development initiatives during this festive season, ensuring better service delivery and community welfare.
