Sikkim Chief Minister Participates in Virtual Inauguration of 75 Infrastructure Projects
Gangtok – Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang attended the virtual inauguration of 75 strategic infrastructure projects across India, including six significant projects specifically benefiting Sikkim. The inauguration, led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, took place from Sherathang and was conducted by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO).
The projects are seen as a vital move toward enhancing national security and improving infrastructure in border areas. Expressing his gratitude, Chief Minister Tamang congratulated Defence Minister Singh, the Indian Army, and the BRO for their achievements and their hospitality.
In a proactive approach to further bolster Sikkim’s infrastructure, Tamang recently chaired a meeting with BRO officials to address road infrastructure improvements in North Sikkim, particularly in landslide-prone areas. During this meeting, a joint inspection was planned to assess critical regions and devise a comprehensive action plan.
Tamang emphasized the necessity for immediate and sustainable solutions to mitigate the vulnerabilities of road infrastructure, ensuring better accessibility and safety for the residents.
