Assam: Escaped Prisoner’s Body Found in Pond After Morigaon Jailbreak

Morigaon: On October 13, the body of Abdul Rashid, one of five prisoners who escaped from Morigaon jail, was discovered in a pond at Lahorighat, Assam. Rashid, who had broken out on the night of October 10, was found after local residents alerted law enforcement upon spotting his body in a nearby beel (wetland).

Authorities are on high alert as the four other escapees remain at large, and efforts are being intensified to locate and apprehend them. The jailbreak has triggered a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the escape, with officials working to determine whether Rashid’s death resulted from an accident, foul play, or other factors.
