In a successful joint operation on October 12, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with Nagaland Police, apprehended a cadre of the NSCN (KYA) insurgent group in Mon town, Nagaland. Acting on specific intelligence about the movement of insurgents, security forces established a mobile vehicle check post to intercept suspected vehicles in the area.
During the inspection, an Alto car was stopped, resulting in the arrest of an NSCN (KYA) cadre and two other individuals. A 7.65mm pistol, ammunition, and documents related to extortion activities were recovered from the vehicle.
The apprehended individuals and the seized items were handed over to Nagaland Police for further investigation. The operation highlights ongoing efforts to curb insurgency and related criminal activities in the region.
