Assam’s Durga Puja Celebrations Conclude Smoothly, DGP Commends Public and Security Forces

Assam’s Durga Puja celebrations concluded successfully, with immersions carried out across most ghats in the state. Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh took to social media to express his gratitude for the smooth execution of the festivities, emphasizing the public’s cooperation and the tireless efforts of the security forces.

“Grateful to the people of Assam for standing by the advisories of the administration in all the districts,” Singh tweeted, acknowledging the adherence to guidelines throughout the festival period.

The DGP praised the extensive coordination that ensured public safety, stating, “Appreciate the planning, effort, and hard work put in by personnel of Assam Police, Traffic, Assam Home Guards, VDP, F&ES, NCC, Scouts and Guides, and the district administration.”

He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to public safety, saying, “We remain committed to the safety of the people of Assam.”

In a unique addition to this year’s security measures, Manipur Police recruits played a key role. Singh extended special recognition to them, noting, “Special appreciation for the Recruit Constables of @manipur_police for associating with Assam Police in Puja duties as part of their L&O training curriculum.”

The collective efforts ensured a peaceful and well-organized celebration, with no major incidents reported.
