Manipur Police Detain Individual and Arrest Seven KCP Cadres Amid Ongoing Security Operations

Imphal: Manipur Police detained a 25-year-old individual, Jangkhumang Haolai, near Yaingangpokpi in the Ukhrul district.

Haolai, a resident of Mollen village, was found loitering in the area and was handed over to Assam Rifles after verification for safe return to his family.

This detention is part of the broader security efforts in the region, where law enforcement and security forces are conducting regular search operations and area domination exercises across both hill and valley districts.

These measures are intended to maintain security and ensure the safe movement of essential goods.

Security forces also facilitated the movement of 290 vehicles on National Highway 37 and 215 vehicles on National Highway 2, ensuring the transportation of essential supplies.

Strict security protocols were enforced at vulnerable locations, and convoys were provided along sensitive stretches of the highways to guarantee safe passage.

In addition to these efforts, a total of 109 checkpoints were set up across various districts of the state, with no arrests made for violations during these inspections.

In a separate operation on the same day, Manipur Police arrested seven active cadres of the KCP (Nongdrenkhomba) group in Imphal West District.

The individuals, involved in extortion and intimidation of the public, were identified as Loushambam Alin Singh (26), Konsam Rohit Singh (23), Sanju Wahengbam (20), Phanjoubam Thoiba Mangang (26), Waikhom Hero Meetei (21), Yanglem Bikash Meitei (23), and Henthoibi Moirangthem (41).
