Omar Abdullah Sworn in as Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar: Omar Abdullah has officially taken office as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir during a swearing-in ceremony held at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar. The National Conference (NC) leader was administered the oath in the presence of senior political figures, government officials, and dignitaries.

Returning to the role after previously serving from 2009 to 2015, Abdullah assumes leadership at a crucial time for Jammu and Kashmir, where political stability, economic development, and reconciliation efforts are at the forefront. His government is focused on rebuilding trust with the people, particularly following significant constitutional and administrative shifts in the region in recent years.

Abdullah’s tenure is expected to concentrate on fostering peace and addressing the socio-economic challenges facing the Union Territory.
