Rural Development Professionals to Gather in Meghalaya for Social Audit Exposure Visit

Shillong: Rural development professionals from across India are set to gather in Meghalaya next week for a five-day exposure visit centered on social audit practices.

Scheduled from October 21 to 25, the event is organized by the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) and aims to showcase Meghalaya’s successful initiatives while fostering cross-state learning.

Participants will engage in field visits and interactive sessions at the State Institute of Rural Development in Nongsder. The Meghalaya Society for Social Audit and Transparency will facilitate the program, providing attendees with firsthand experiences of the state’s innovative approaches to social audits.

This exposure visit is the third organized by NIRDPR in the 2024-25 financial year, reflecting the institute’s commitment to enhancing social audit practices across the nation.

The program, designed by the NIRDPR’s Centre for Social Audit, aims to promote the exchange of best practices among various states and union territories.

Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with local stakeholders, gaining valuable insights into strategies that have significantly contributed to Meghalaya’s rural development.

Emphasizing collaborative learning, this visit seeks to inspire participants to adapt successful models from Meghalaya in their respective regions, furthering the cause of rural development throughout India.
