Arunachal: Indian Air Force Havildar and Son Swept Away by Kameng River

Arunachal: In a tragic incident near Bhalukpung, West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh, an Indian Air Force (IAF) havildar and his 14-year-old son were swept away by the strong currents of the Kameng River on Thursday evening.

The incident occurred when Bapi Ghosh, an IAF havildar stationed at the Salonibari camp, and his family were on a casual outing.

According to reports, Ghosh’s son slipped into the fast-moving waters of the Kameng River. In a desperate attempt to save his son, Ghosh immediately jumped in, but both father and son were quickly overpowered by the powerful current and carried away.

Alarmed by the situation, Ghosh’s wife alerted locals who promptly informed the authorities. Rescue operations were launched by teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). Despite extensive efforts, neither Ghosh nor his son had been located as of Friday evening.

The search operation continues, with rescue teams tirelessly working to trace the missing father and son. The incident has left the local community in shock as they pray for a positive outcome.
