Tripura State Rifles (TSR) Rifleman Dies by Suicide in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: A Rifleman of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR), identified as Azad Singh, allegedly died by suicide using his service rifle late at night on October 18.

The incident occurred while Singh was on security duty in Chhattisgarh, deployed with the South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL).

According to an official from Tripura Police, Azad Singh, a resident of Alwar, Rajasthan, was attached to the 1st Battalion TSR.

Preliminary reports suggest that Singh may have been dealing with family-related issues, which could have contributed to the incident.

Police have initiated formal legal procedures and ordered a detailed enquiry to determine the circumstances surrounding Singh’s death.

Authorities are also making arrangements to transport the body to his home in Alwar, Rajasthan.

The incident has raised concerns over the mental health and well-being of security personnel, highlighting the need for stronger support systems to address personal challenges faced by those on duty.
