Joint Operations in Manipur: Security Forces Recover 11 Weapons and Ammunition

Imphal: In a series of coordinated operations, the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and Manipur Police successfully recovered a cache of 11 weapons and warlike stores across the districts of Churachandpur, Chandel, and Thoubal in Manipur.

These operations highlight the ongoing efforts to enhance security and combat illicit arms trafficking in the region.

On October 22, an intelligence-driven operation in the Thoroilok area of Churachandpur led to the recovery of two country-made mortars, a homemade pistol, grenades, explosives, and various ammunition.

This was conducted by the Indian Army in conjunction with the Manipur Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

On the same day, Assam Rifles and the Manipur Police executed another operation in Lamzang village, recovering a .303 rifle, a single-barrel rifle, ammunition, and additional warlike stores.

Further operations on October 22 in Chandel district by Assam Rifles resulted in the recovery of an automatic 9mm weapon, two locally-made mortars, and a single-barrel gun, along with ammunition.

On October 23, a joint search operation in the Kwarok Maring village area of Thoubal yielded another cache that included a country-made 9mm pistol, a single-barrel breech-loading gun, two grenades, and ammunition. All recovered items were subsequently handed over to the Manipur Police.

These successful operations underscore the effective collaboration between the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and local law enforcement agencies, reinforcing their commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the region amid ongoing security challenges.
