Arunachal Increases DA and DR for Employees and Pensioners

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh government has approved a 3 per cent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for its regular employees and pensioners, effective from July 1.

This increase, announced by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, raises the DA and DR from 50 per cent to 53 per cent, providing additional financial support to 68,818 regular employees in the state.

Deputy Chief Minister Mein, who also handles the finance, planning, and investment portfolios, stated that the decision aligns with the Centre’s policy and is designed to benefit state government employees, All India Service officers posted in the state, central government employees on deputation, and pensioners.

The hike will ensure improved welfare for these groups, reflecting the government’s commitment to their well-being.

Additionally, the state has revised the House Rent Allowance (HRA), setting it at 30 per cent, 20 per cent, and 10 per cent for different categories of towns, providing further financial relief. The overall financial implication of these decisions is estimated at Rs 63.92 crore, covering the period from July 2024 to March 2025.

Deputy Chief Minister Mein emphasized that this initiative reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to the welfare of its employees and pensioners, ensuring they receive the support and resources they deserve.
