Sikkim: “TNA Alumni Carnival 2024” Kicks Off with a Celebration of Culture, Community, and Legacy

Gangtok — The highly awaited “TNA Alumni Carnival 2024” opened its doors today at Tashi Namgyal Academy (TNA), setting a festive tone for the weekend with Hon’ble Minister for Education Raju Basnett inaugurating the event as Chief Guest.

Joined by prominent figures, including MLA of 21-Gnathang Machong Pamin Lepcha and MLA of Gangtok Delay Namgyal Barfungpa, the occasion brought together dignitaries, alumni, students, and community leaders to celebrate TNA’s enduring legacy.

The carnival began with a spirited musical performance by the Pipers band, whose dynamic set infused the crowd with energy and anticipation.

This was followed by a series of traditional dances and musical presentations that reflected the area’s rich cultural heritage. Performers, dressed in colorful local attire, showcased the essence of Sikkimese tradition through graceful moves and soulful rhythms.

In addition to cultural displays, sports events were a major highlight, encouraging friendly competition among alumni, students, and community members alike.

From traditional games to team sports, the activities embodied TNA’s emphasis on holistic development, emphasizing both athletic skill and cultural appreciation. The diverse lineup brought the TNA community together, reinforcing the values of camaraderie and school pride.

Chief Guest Raju Basnett emphasized the carnival’s significance as more than just an event, calling it a powerful link between alumni and current students. “This event isn’t just a celebration of the school’s accomplishments; it’s a bridge between the past and present, where stories are shared, traditions are honored, and the spirit of community is strengthened,” he said.
