Sikkim’s Girls’ Kho Kho Team Gears Up for Khelo India East & North East Zone Women’s Kho Kho League
Sikkim — Sikkim’s girls’ kho kho team is poised to showcase their skills at the Khelo India East & North East Zone Women’s Kho Kho League for the 2024-2025 season, taking place in Haldia, West Bengal, from September 27 to October 29.
Representing the state in both sub-junior and junior categories, the team consists of 13 talented players hailing from various schools, including Sombaria, Rumbuk, Lingdok, Phangthang, and Namchi Public School. The diverse talent pool is expected to enhance the team’s competitive edge in the league.
A robust support structure backs the team, featuring Teju Hang Limboo as the team manager and Tilak Ojha serving as the physiotherapist. The team is under the capable leadership of Amrita Biswakarma as the head coach, with Geetu Poudayl assisting her. Additionally, Anup Chakraborty, serving as the Technical Director, provides strategic guidance to the players, ensuring they are well-prepared for the challenges ahead.
The Sikkim Kho Kho Association has played a pivotal role in the team’s preparation for this regional tournament. BK Roka, the President, and Sabitri Pradhan, the General Secretary, have been instrumental in securing the necessary resources and support to enable the players to excel.
As the tournament approaches, the Sikkim girls’ kho kho team is eager to make their mark and compete against the best teams from the region, representing their state with pride and determination.
