Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Highlights Infiltration Concerns in Jharkhand Assembly Campaign
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister and BJP co-in-charge for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has raised alarms over what he perceives as a critical issue of infiltration in the region. Drawing a provocative analogy to the mythological figure Lord Hanuman, he stated, “I will set fire against infiltrators, just as Lord Hanuman set Lanka ablaze. We must set fire against infiltrators to make Jharkhand a golden land.”
Sarma voiced particular concerns regarding demographic changes in the Santhal Pargana area, pointing out a noticeable decline in the tribal population while the Muslim population has reportedly experienced significant growth. He emphasized that while not every Muslim is an infiltrator, the consistent rise in their numbers every five years raises questions. “Is a family giving birth to 10-12 children? If not, then people are definitely coming from outside. This is simple mathematics,” he remarked.
Beyond the elections, Sarma outlined the BJP’s broader agenda, which focuses on eliminating infiltrators from Santhal Pargana and ensuring justice for women. He stressed that addressing these demographic and social challenges is a top priority for the party, asserting that it is vital for the future development of the region.
Sarma’s statements reflect the BJP’s commitment to bolstering its stance on national security and social issues, aiming to resonate with voters concerned about demographic shifts and their implications for local communities.
