Assam: BJP Worker Attacked and Congress Offices Vandalized in Samaguri, Sparking Tensions

Samaguri— A BJP worker, Akbar Ali, was brutally attacked late Saturday night by unidentified assailants while riding his motorcycle home from the Kesakhaiti market.

The assault has left him in grave condition, necessitating his transfer from Kawaimari Hospital to a facility in Nagaon for advanced medical treatment.

The violence didn’t stop there; on the same night, a group of over a hundred individuals vandalized three Congress party offices in Nagaon’s Samaguri area.

Eyewitnesses reported that the miscreants arrived in vehicles and launched a coordinated attack on the offices located in Laokhowa Shanti Bazar, 4 No Bogamukh, and 6 No Bogamukh, resulting in extensive damage and destruction.

The incidents have heightened tensions in the region, prompting local law enforcement and administrative officials to take action. Police are currently investigating both the attack on Akbar Ali and the vandalism of the Congress party offices, as community members express increasing concern over the rise in politically motivated violence.

Authorities are urging calm and emphasizing the need for unity in the face of escalating unrest, as the region grapples with the implications of these violent outbreaks.
