BSF in Tripura Thwarts Multiple Infiltration Attempts Along Indo-Bangladesh Border, Apprehends Seven Nationals

Agartala: The Border Security Force (BSF) in Tripura successfully foiled multiple infiltration attempts along the Indo-Bangladesh border, apprehending five Bangladeshi nationals attempting to enter India illegally.

Acting on specific intelligence, BSF troops thwarted the infiltration bid, preventing the foreign nationals from crossing the border.

In a recent operation on November 1, the BSF further intensified efforts to curb illegal immigration and cross-border smuggling in the region. In a strategic operation, two Rohingya nationals were detained, and contraband items, including narcotics valued at over ₹4 lakh, were seized. ‘

According to a BSF press release, this operation was conducted following intelligence reports indicating possible illegal migrant activity near the Karbook area.

BSF personnel stationed at the Border Out Post (BOP) in Bhatiabari, Gomati District, intercepted the two Rohingya nationals at the Karbook bus stand as they allegedly prepared to cross the border back into Bangladesh.

The Rohingya migrants, along with the seized contraband, have been handed over to local authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings.

The recent string of apprehensions underscores the BSF’s ongoing efforts to enhance border security along the India-Bangladesh frontier, where cross-border smuggling and illegal migration have posed significant challenges.

The BSF, in collaboration with local law enforcement, remains vigilant in securing the region, conducting regular patrols and deploying intelligence-driven operations to prevent unauthorized entry and illegal activities.
