Assam: One dead, 2 injured in clashes over land in Abhayapuri
Guwahati: A violent altercation between two groups led to the death of a man in Abhayapuri, Bongaigaon district, on Tuesday, November 6.
The fatal incident took place in No-Satra, an area under the jurisdiction of the Lengtisinga police station.
The altercation turned deadly when Barek Ali, a local resident, was attacked by his relatives Jahir Ali, Mohir Ali, and Jasmat Ali. According to eyewitnesses, Barek Ali was leaving his home when he was ambushed from behind and attacked with sharp weapons, resulting in fatal injuries that led to his death on the spot.
In addition to Barek Ali’s death, two other individuals were severely injured during the family dispute. Medical teams were quick to respond, and one of the injured was transferred to Bongaigaon for advanced treatment due to the severity of their condition.
Local authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, seeking to understand the root causes of the family conflict and the series of events that led to the violent escalation. The police are actively working to apprehend the suspects involved, while extra security measures have been implemented in the area to prevent any further incidents of violence.
