Dhubri Land Scam: Lat Mandal Accused of Document Tampering and Illegal Land Transfer

Dhubri– A major land manipulation scandal has surfaced in Dhubri, where Sujit Sengupta, the Lat Mandal of Bidyapara Part-I, allegedly forged official documents to illegally transfer land ownership.

The incident, which involves serious allegations of document tampering and fraudulent transfers, has reportedly gone unaddressed by district authorities.

The disputed land, located in the Dhubri Municipal area, was reportedly manipulated to delete the names of the rightful owners, Moshir Uddin Ahmed, Firoz Uddin Ahmed, and Mobin Uddin Ahmed. Sengupta allegedly replaced these names with Moniruzzaman and five others, all heirs of the late Musa Miah. This illegal modification disregarded prior court rulings, including clear judgments in cases T.A. No. 48/2009 and T.S. No. 5/2000, which were reportedly ignored during the record tampering.

Legal orders from district authorities, including the S.O., Dhubri on 08.09.2015 and the A.S.O., Dhubri on 03.06.2016, were also overlooked, further violating the original landowners’ rights under the Periodic Khiraj Lease for Town Land (Final Patta). This ongoing case is now entangled in legal appeals (I.A. No. 516/2016 and RSA No. 221/2015) pending before the Gauhati High Court.

In a troubling revelation, the original landowners were kept unaware of these manipulations. It has emerged that Moniruzzaman and his co-heirs allegedly concealed critical legal records, including a dismissal ruling in Case No. RFA 111/2004 by the Gauhati High Court, which reaffirmed the original T.S. No. 5/2000 judgment in favor of the rightful landowners.

Tanvir Parves Ahmed, son of the late Mobin Uddin Ahmed, has urged authorities to act against Sengupta and others involved. Allegations indicate that financial incentives may have driven Sengupta’s actions, adding a layer of corruption to an already severe case of legal manipulation.
