Guwahati: In a significant operation, the Guwahati Cyber Police successfully rescued Satyam Choudhury, a youth from Assam, who had fallen victim to an alleged human trafficking ring in Malaysia.
The rescue marks a critical achievement in combating human trafficking networks targeting vulnerable individuals.
Choudhury, a student in Chennai, was reportedly lured into the trafficking network and had been missing since August, leaving his family in distress. For weeks, there were no leads on his whereabouts, and fears for his safety grew with each passing day.
The Guwahati Cyber Police undertook a two-month-long relentless search to locate him. Their efforts paid off when Choudhury was traced to a temple in Lageshwaram, approximately 400 kilometers from Kuala Lumpur. He was promptly rescued and brought back to India, reuniting with his family in Assam.
This operation underscores the importance of coordinated efforts in tackling human trafficking and ensuring the safety of those trapped in such networks. Choudhury’s safe return brings relief to his family and highlights the diligence of Assam’s cyber police in addressing complex cases.
