BSF Thwarts Smuggling Attempts in Tripura, Seizes Goods Worth Over Rs 28 Lakh
Agartala: The Border Security Force (BSF) in Tripura has once again proven its vigilance in combating smuggling activities along the Indo-Bangladesh border. In separate operations conducted on November 16, the BSF seized a significant consignment of goods worth over Rs 28 lakh.
In one operation, BSF troops intercepted a substantial quantity of cigarettes and medicines, valued at Rs 7.21 lakh. In another operation, the forces seized a haul of Ganja, Phensedyl, sugar, and other contraband items worth Rs 5.39 lakh.
Earlier, in a joint operation with the Tripura Police, the BSF seized clothing and other contraband items worth Rs 15.56 lakh from the Samarganj border outpost area. These items were intended to be smuggled into Bangladesh.
The BSF’s consistent efforts in curbing smuggling activities have dealt a significant blow to the smugglers and underscored the force’s commitment to safeguarding India’s borders.
