Tipra Motha Chief Appeals for Peace in Manipur, Condemns Blame Game
Guwahati: Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, the founder of the Tipra Motha party, has appealed for peace in violence-ridden Manipur. In a strongly worded video message, Debbarma condemned the ongoing violence and the blame game between various groups.
“The problem of Manipur cannot be solved by outsiders,” he asserted, urging the people of the state to take the initiative to restore peace. He emphasized that the violence is hindering the progress of the next generation and that a sustainable solution can only be achieved through unity and collective leadership.
Debbarma also addressed criticism for his delayed condemnation of recent atrocities. He clarified that he had condemned the brutal murder of a woman and child on November 7th and had previously spoken out against the rape of two Kuki women last year. He urged people to speak out against violence, regardless of political affiliations.
The Tipra Motha leader stressed that the blame game between different groups is counterproductive and will only lead to further division. He appealed to leaders from both the ruling and opposition parties in Manipur to prioritize peace and progress over political gains.
Debbarma concluded his appeal by emphasizing the importance of unity and collective leadership. He asserted that the only way to achieve peace, economic development, and a significant role in India’s growth story is through cooperation and understanding among all communities in Manipur.
