Bandi Sanjay Kumar Reviews Progress of Centrally Sponsored Schemes in Nagaland
Kohima: Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, chaired a key review meeting at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat in Kohima on Monday, focusing on the implementation and progress of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) across the state.
Senior officials from various departments attended the meeting, which aimed to assess flagship programs and address challenges in aspirational districts.
In his opening remarks, Nagaland Chief Secretary Dr. J Alam highlighted the significance of the review, underlining the progress made in projects like four-lane national highways, railway expansions, and other iconic initiatives supported by central funding. He emphasized the importance of coordination between state and central departments to ensure the success of these schemes.
During the meeting, Minister Kumar assured attendees that all concerns and suggestions raised would be conveyed to the Central Ministry for prompt resolution. “We have taken note of the challenges faced by the departments and will work to address them at the highest levels,” he said.
The review included detailed presentations on critical programs, such as the *National Oil Palm Mission, led by the Agriculture Department, and the overall status of CSS for the financial year 2024-25, presented by the Planning Department. Special attention was given to the unique challenges faced by aspirational districts like Kiphire, Zunheboto, and Noklak, where officials outlined difficulties in implementing schemes and achieving desired outcomes.
Home Commissioner Vyasan R. expressed gratitude to all participants for their insights and stressed the importance of tailoring CSS to address the state’s specific needs. He urged departments to continue their collaborative efforts to ensure the effective execution of these initiatives.
Minister Kumar’s two-day visit to Nagaland aims to strengthen the state’s development agenda and ensure that centrally funded projects make a tangible impact on the lives of its citizens.
