Assam: In a successful operation, Dhubri police arrested Saiful Islam, a long-time drug peddler, near Samshan Mandir in Folimari on Wednesday evening.
Islam, 25, from Ghoramara, was caught with 60 grams of suspected brown sugar hidden in a soap case.
Led by Sub-Inspectors Nilim Talukdar and Jyotirmoy Das, the operation was based on a credible tip-off. Islam, previously arrested and jailed for drug-related offenses, is now under investigation to uncover his network and drug sources.
This arrest is part of Dhubri police’s ongoing crackdown on drug crimes, aiming to disrupt the local drug trade.
