Bangladeshi Nationals Including Minors Detained at Tripura Railway Station

Khowai: In a joint operation, the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended 12 Bangladeshi nationals, including three minors, at Teliamura Railway Station in Khowai district.

The group, comprising four men, four women, and four children, was attempting to travel to other states in search of employment opportunities.

According to a GRP official, a tip-off led to the successful interception. “We received intelligence about a group of Bangladeshi nationals arriving at the station. Acting on this information, GRP and BSF personnel swiftly mobilized and cordoned off the area. During the subsequent checks, we detained the 12 individuals,” the official stated.

The detainees revealed that they had entered India illegally through the Silachari area in Gomati district with the assistance of a Bangladeshi tout.

Further investigations are underway to ascertain the extent of the human trafficking network involved in facilitating the illegal entry of these individuals.
