Nagaon, Assam: A shocking incident has come to light from Assam’s Nagaon district, where a man named Dibyajyoti Saikia has been arrested for allegedly killing a female dog.
The gruesome act, which took place on November 22 in Puranigudam’s Mikirhat Hatigaon, has sparked widespread condemnation.
Saikia claimed that the dog had killed 75 of his chickens, justifying his brutal act. However, local villagers have vehemently refuted his claims, asserting that the dog had never exhibited any signs of aggression.
The tragedy deepened as the dog’s five orphaned pups, just two days old, were seen desperately seeking milk from their lifeless mother. This heart-wrenching sight further fueled public anger against the accused.
Following the incident, enraged villagers lodged a police complaint, demanding strict action against Saikia. The authorities have taken cognizance of the matter and initiated legal proceedings.
