Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi Criticizes PM Modi’s Silence on Adani Controversy

Assam: Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has strongly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence on the escalating controversy surrounding the Adani Group, alleging that it reflects an effort by the government to conceal critical information.

Addressing reporters, Gogoi stated, “PM Modi’s silence on the Adani matter makes it abundantly clear that the Modi Government is concealing something important. When a U.S. investigating agency levels such serious allegations against a company, it is the responsibility of the Indian Government to ensure a thorough investigation. However, the silence we are witnessing is not mere inaction—it’s a deliberate effort to suppress the truth.”

The remarks come as opposition parties intensify demands for a comprehensive inquiry into the financial dealings of the Adani Group, following international scrutiny and allegations of irregularities. Gogoi underscored the public’s growing concerns, adding, “This silence is loud, and it is being heard by the people of the country.”

The controversy has fueled heated debates in Parliament and beyond, with opposition leaders calling for greater transparency and accountability from the government regarding corporate governance and regulatory oversight. The Adani issue is expected to remain a focal point in the ongoing winter session.
