Centre to Bolster Organic and Natural Farming in Sikkim with Increased Financial Aid
Sikkim: Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced on November 26 that the Central government would provide substantial financial assistance to promote organic and natural farming in Sikkim.
The declaration was made during a meeting attended by Sikkim Agriculture Minister Puran Kumar Gurang, underscoring the Centre’s commitment to bolstering agricultural practices in the Northeastern state.
“The Central government will continue to provide all possible assistance to promote organic farming in the state,” Chouhan stated, reaffirming the Union ministry’s focus on advancing sustainable agricultural methods in Sikkim. He emphasized that sufficient aid would be allocated to further organic and natural farming sectors, ensuring their long-term growth and resilience.
The announcement follows a series of meetings between Chouhan and state agriculture ministers, aimed at addressing pressing issues in the agricultural sector across the country.
Meanwhile, Sikkim Lok Sabha MP Indra Hang Subba reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for the state’s interests during the ongoing winter session of Parliament.
