Assam: Major Drug Bust in Sri Bhumi; Rs 1 Crore Worth of Yaba Tablets Seized

Sri Bhumi: In a major breakthrough, Sri Bhumi police, under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Partha Pratim Das, have successfully dismantled a drug trafficking network, seizing a massive haul of illegal drugs worth over Rs 1 crore.

Acting on credible intelligence, a specialized police team conducted a raid in the Patel Nagar area. During the operation, they intercepted two vehicles and discovered 76,000 Yaba tablets meticulously concealed within secret compartments.

Three individuals, identified as Hossain Ahmed and Abdullah Khair from Kalain in Cachar, and Nizam Uddin from Katigora, were apprehended in connection with the drug smuggling operation.

According to SP Das, the seized drugs were destined for Patharkandi and were part of a larger distribution network.

This significant seizure underscores the relentless efforts of the Sri Bhumi police in combating the rising menace of drug trafficking in the region. The authorities remain committed to dismantling such networks and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
