Mizoram Govt to Purge Non-Performers, Streamline CSR
Aizawl: In a significant move to enhance government efficiency, the Mizoram government has announced plans to remove non-performing employees from state service. Chief Minister Lalduhoma revealed this during a recent review meeting of the education department in Aizawl.
The CM emphasized the need for a highly qualified and efficient workforce. To achieve this goal, committees are being established within various departments to evaluate the performance of government employees.
“We believe it’s essential to relieve unqualified and underperforming employees from their positions,” Lalduhoma stated. “Our commitment lies in ensuring a workforce that delivers high-quality services.”
To further streamline government operations, the Mizoram government is taking steps to centralize the utilization of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds. The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) will now oversee CSR allocation, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Additionally, the government aims to minimize reliance on Central funding, which often requires substantial state matching shares. To avoid overlapping project proposals, all departments must submit their proposals through the state planning department.
By implementing these measures, the Mizoram government seeks to improve service delivery, optimize resource allocation, and ultimately enhance the overall governance of the state.
