Manipur Police Seize Heroin, Intensify Security Operations

Imphal, Manipur: In a significant operation, Manipur Police intercepted a four-wheeler on the Pallel Chandel Road and seized 135 grams of suspected heroin concealed within 11 soap cases.

The driver, a 24-year-old identified as Md. Rousan, was apprehended, and the vehicle, along with the narcotics and a mobile phone, was confiscated.

Simultaneously, security forces across the state have ramped up their efforts to maintain law and order. Intensive search operations and area domination exercises are being conducted in vulnerable regions of both hill and valley districts. These measures are aimed at curbing illegal activities and ensuring public safety in sensitive zones.

To facilitate the smooth movement of essential commodities, security forces have escorted 262 vehicles along National Highway 37 and 336 vehicles along National Highway 2. Strict security protocols and convoys have been deployed to guarantee the safe passage of goods.

Furthermore, 94 Nakas and checkpoints have been established in various districts to enhance security. Despite heightened vigilance, no detentions were reported for violations across the state, indicating the effectiveness of the security measures in place.
