Governor of Assam Approves Nomination of Two MCLAs as Executive Members in BTC
Assam: The Governor of Assam has officially approved the nomination of Sajal Kumar Singha and Saikong Basumatary as Executive Members in the Executive Council of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC). This move follows a recommendation from Pramod Boro, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the BTC.
Sajal Kumar Singha, representing the Srirampur constituency, was initially elected as a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) during the 2020 BTC elections. However, he switched his allegiance to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prior to the formation of the current BTC government.
Saikong Basumatary, elected from the Chirang constituency, was originally a member of the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) but later joined the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), aligning with the present BTC administration.
The inclusion of Singha and Basumatary in the Executive Council is expected to strengthen the governance structure of the BTC and further consolidate the leadership under the current administration.
