Assam CM Urges Ex-Cops to Be Brand Ambassadors for State Police

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has called upon former top police officials to serve as brand ambassadors for the state police force.

Addressing the inaugural session of the first-ever Assam Police Chiefs’ Reunion in Guwahati on Saturday, Sarma emphasized the importance of sharing the success stories of Assam Police with the outside world.

The two-day event brings together retired and serving top police officers of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre of the Indian Police Service (IPS). The CM highlighted the opportunity for serving officers to learn from the vast experience of their veteran counterparts.

“We have invited retired top officers to interact with serving officials at different levels. This will help in knowledge sharing and skill enhancement,” Sarma said.

The Chief Minister also briefed the retired officers on the significant strides made by the Assam Police in recent times and urged them to promote these achievements nationally and internationally.

“The insights gained from the retired officers will further strengthen the capabilities of Assam Police,” he added.

Director General of Police GP Singh stated that the reunion seminar is a historic event for the Assam Police. The valedictory function will be graced by Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Sunday.
