Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma Highlights Northeast’s Role in India’s Development at Ashtalakshmi Mahotsav
New Delhi: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma underscored the Northeast’s vital contribution to India’s vision of becoming a developed nation while attending the Ashtalakshmi Mahotsav at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
Addressing the gathering, CM Sangma emphasized the untapped potential of the region, stating, “The Northeast must play a pivotal role in India’s journey toward becoming a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India).” He lauded the transformative initiatives undertaken over the past decade under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, particularly in agriculture, tourism, and infrastructure development.
The event, focused on accelerating the Northeast’s progress, provided an opportunity for the chief minister to interact with self-help groups (SHGs) and entrepreneurs from Meghalaya. Touring the venue, Sangma purchased local products, showcasing his commitment to promoting grassroots enterprises and the state’s entrepreneurial spirit.
Expressing gratitude to the central government for its unwavering support, Sangma remarked that the Union’s policies have significantly bolstered the region’s growth trajectory, paving the way for a brighter future.
