Assam CM Launches 12-Day Festival of Development Benefiting 12 Lakh People
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has unveiled a 12-day festival of development across the state, aiming to deliver benefits to 12 lakh people through various welfare measures.
The initiative includes transformative programs such as the distribution of scooties to girl children, scholarships and bicycles for girl students, loan waivers for mothers, and financial assistance to flood-affected families.
Speaking at a press briefing, the Chief Minister highlighted a key component of the initiative—loan waivers for women. He stated, “The women of Assam who have availed loans up to ₹50,000 from financial institutions will have their loans waived off by the state government through settlements with banks. Over the next 12 days, they will receive ‘no dues certificates’ from the banks.”
The Chief Minister underscored the festival’s goal of fostering progress and improving the quality of life across Assam. He assured that the government is committed to delivering these benefits efficiently while addressing the needs of vulnerable communities.
This ambitious initiative reflects the Assam government’s focus on holistic development and social welfare, drawing widespread public attention and appreciation.
