Arunachal: Doimukh MLA Nabam Vivek Distributes Dryer Machines to Farmers, Boosting Sustainable Agriculture
Itanagar: Nabam Vivek, the newly elected MLA of the 14th Doimukh Assembly constituency, distributed dryer machines to seven dedicated farmers at the District Horticulture Office (DHO) in Yupia.
The event, held as part of a broader initiative to promote sustainable agriculture, also saw the mass distribution of agricultural tools and equipment to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and enterprising farmers from villages in the Sangdupota Circle, including Poma, Khamyir, Rakap, Jote, Rillo, and Moin.
Organized in Jote, the initiative aimed to empower grassroots farming and drive agricultural innovation. MLA Vivek praised the “Ajin Anna Society” for its exceptional efforts in uplifting SHGs and individuals. “Together, we will continue to uplift our farming community and ensure a prosperous future for all,” he remarked, underscoring the collective drive toward agricultural advancement.
During the event, Vivek expressed gratitude to the Department of Horticulture for their unwavering dedication to the farming community. He highlighted the versatility of the distributed dryer machines, which can process a variety of agricultural products, including fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices, nuts, mushrooms, meat, fish, papads, semi-liquid foods like yogurt, and even incense sticks. These machines are expected to open up new income-generating opportunities for farmers through value-added products.
The MLA pledged his continued support for farmers and the horticulture department, emphasizing the importance of initiatives that improve livelihoods and promote self-sufficiency. “Efforts like these are vital to achieving self-sufficiency and fostering sustainable agricultural practices,” he said.
The distribution initiative is expected to enhance productivity, empower farmers, and contribute to the economic growth of the Papum Pare district. By facilitating the creation of value-added agricultural products, the program not only boosts incomes but also reinforces the region’s commitment to sustainable farming practices.
