Manipur Police Nab Three KCP (PWG) Cadres in Intensified Crackdown
Imphal: In a significant development, Manipur Police has arrested three cadres of the Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group) [KCP (PWG)] in separate operations conducted on December 16.
The first operation, carried out in the Kakching Ching Kakpham area, led to the arrest of Lisham Premananda Meitei, alias Poirei (45), and James Ningthoujam (44). During the raid, security forces recovered three mobile phones and a four-wheeler vehicle from the duo.
The arrests come in the wake of the killing of two non-locals in Keirak on December 14, prompting intensified security measures in the region.
In another operation conducted on the same day, Manipur Police apprehended Irengbam Rameshwar Singh (48), an active KCP (PWG) cadre, from the Kakching Lamkhai area under the Kakching Police Station.
The arrests underscore the ongoing efforts of the Manipur Police to dismantle the KCP (PWG) and maintain peace and security in the state.
