Dhubri, Assam: The District Administration of Dhubri recently organized a significant distribution event, providing much-needed financial assistance to various beneficiaries.

The event, held at Pramatesh Chandra Baruah Field, saw the distribution of Negotiable Deposit Certificates (NDCs), seed capital under the PMFME scheme, and Relief DBT.

The event was graced by the presence of Prasanta Phukan, Minister of Power, Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship, and Medical Education & Research, Government of Assam.

In his address, Minister Phukan highlighted the government’s unwavering commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and supporting small businesses. He emphasized the importance of financial aid and skill development programs in empowering individuals and driving economic growth, especially in rural areas.

A significant portion of the event focused on providing relief to microfinance borrowers. Over 4,104 beneficiaries from various institutions, including Bandhan Bank and A.S.A. Microfinance Limited, received loan-free certificates as part of the Assam Microfinance Program.

The PMFME scheme also played a pivotal role in the event. 270 women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) were awarded ₹1 crore in financial assistance, empowering them to establish and grow their micro-enterprises.

The distribution event underscored the government’s dedication to inclusive growth, economic stability, and the empowerment of small-scale entrepreneurs and flood-affected families in Dhubri. By providing timely financial assistance and support, the government aims to facilitate recovery, rehabilitation, and sustainable economic development in the region.
