Assam Businessman Rescued from Militants in Arunachal, Search on for Supervisor
Tinsukia, Assam: A chilling incident has sent shockwaves through the peaceful district of Tinsukia in Assam.
A group of five unidentified individuals, suspected to be members of the banned militant group ULFA-I, abducted a prominent businessman and his supervisor from a stone mill in Jagun.
The victim, Bhai Chetry, a well-known figure in the region, had reportedly received threats from the militant outfit.
The abduction, carried out under mysterious circumstances, also involved his supervisor, Prakash Bahadur Chetry.
While Bhai Chetry was later released in the neighboring state of Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap district, Prakash Bahadur Chetry remains captive.
This incident marks the second abduction in the region within the last two months, raising serious concerns about the resurgence of militant activities.
Local authorities are currently investigating the matter, aiming to identify the culprits and unravel the motives behind this audacious act.
