Naga Organization Condemns Kuki Interference in Manipur Chief Minister’s Visits
Imphal: The Naga People’s Organization (NPO) in Senapati has strongly condemned the actions of certain Kuki Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) who have been issuing warnings and attempting to obstruct the Chief Minister of Manipur and government officials from visiting Naga villages or participating in Naga festivals within the Senapati District.
In a statement, the NPO emphasized the Naga community’s neutrality in the ongoing conflict in Manipur and their consistent efforts to promote peace and harmony. However, the organization expressed deep concern over the repeated warnings from Kuki leaders against the Chief Minister’s involvement in Naga cultural and community events.
The NPO argued that the Chief Minister, as the elected leader of the state, represents all communities, including the Nagas. They asserted that attempts by Kuki leaders to prevent the Chief Minister from engaging with Naga communities are unwarranted and exceed their jurisdiction.
The organization called on all stakeholders to respect the neutrality of the Naga community and work towards genuine peace and mutual understanding. The NPO concluded by stating that only through respect and cooperation can lasting harmony be achieved in Manipur.
