Assam: Vigilant Locals Thwart Mobile Tower Thieves in Baksa
Assam: A daring attempt to steal items from a mobile tower in Aohata, Baksa district of Assam, was foiled by alert locals.
Two individuals, identified as Mofidul Islam and Asadul Ali from Khorishalar, Barpeta, were caught red-handed while descending from the tower, which is located at the residence of Ranjit Kalita.
The duo, who had reportedly been involved in similar thefts at other mobile tower sites, were confronted by an angry mob upon their descent. The irate locals subjected the thieves to physical assault before the arrival of law enforcement officials.
The timely intervention of the police prevented the situation from escalating further and led to the arrest of both individuals. The apprehended thieves are currently in police custody and are being interrogated to gather more information about their criminal activities.
