
Tripura: Amit Shah, Jyotiraditya Scindia Arrive in Agartala for NEC’s 72nd Plenary Session
Agartala: Union Home Minister Amit Shah and DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, along with five Governors and three Chief Ministers of the Northeast, have arrived in Agartala, Tripura, for the 72nd Plenary Session of the North Eastern Council (NEC). The session is scheduled to take place on December 20 and 21.
According to sources from the Tripura Government, Shah and Scindia reached Agartala on the evening of December 20, accompanied by Union Minister of State Dr. Sukanta Majumder and several high-ranking delegates. Additional participants, including state officials and NEC members, are expected to arrive on the morning of December 21.
Prominent attendees include Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. Gen. Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik and Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Manipur Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya and Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, Nagaland Governor La. Ganesan, Sikkim Governor Om Prakash and Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, and Mizoram Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati.
Speaking upon his arrival, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed admiration for Tripura’s natural beauty, stating, “Nestled amidst serene hills, verdant valleys, and pristine waterscapes, Tripura is a land steeped in rich myths and legends, offering an unparalleled blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage.”
The NEC’s plenary session is anticipated to focus on key developmental initiatives, regional collaboration, and strategies to bolster growth across the northeastern states. With high-level representation from both the Centre and the states, the session underscores the government’s commitment to advancing the region’s socio-economic landscape.
