Amit Shah to Launch Eight Cooperative Projects in Tripura During Cooperative Conference 2024
Agartala: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who also serves as the Minister for Cooperation, is set to launch and inaugurate eight significant projects and schemes during the Cooperative Conference 2024 in Agartala on December 22.
Tripura Cooperative Minister Shukla Charan Noatia announced that the event, organized at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan, coincides with the Union Home Minister’s two-day visit to Tripura. Shah will also preside over the 72nd Plenary Session of the North Eastern Regional Council during his stay.
Highlighting the importance of the Cooperative Conference, Minister Noatia noted that the United Nations has declared 2025 as the International Year of Cooperatives, and the event aims to underscore the importance of the cooperative sector in Tripura and across the nation.
The Union Minister will inspect 18 specially designed stalls showcasing achievements in the cooperative sector and promoting public awareness about cooperatives. Among the key highlights of the conference:
• Flagging Off Mobile Vans: Shah will flag off the Bharat Brand mobile van provided by the National Co-operative Consumers’ Federation Ltd. (NCCF) and a Rural Mart mobile van provided by NABARD.
• Micro ATMs Distribution: The Tripura State Cooperative Bank will distribute micro ATMs to 50 primary cooperative societies.
• Petrol Pump Inauguration: A new petrol pump, constructed by the Tripura State Cooperative Consumers Federation Ltd. (TSCCF), will be inaugurated in Udaipur under Gomati District.
• Consumer Store and Fertilizer Center: A consumer store in the Bru Settlement area of Dhalai District and the Daldoli Lamps Fertilizer Sales Center in Katlamara, West Tripura, will be launched.
• Smart Training Center: The Smart Training Center under the Tripura State Cooperative Union will be inaugurated in Agartala.
• Dal Seed Distribution and MoU Signing: Mini dal seeds will be distributed, and an MoU between the National Co-operative Organics Federation (NCOF) and the Tripura State Organic Development Agency will be signed.
Minister Noatia added that all these projects will be virtually inaugurated by Shah, alongside Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, MP Biplab Kumar Deb, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, Union Ministry of Cooperatives Secretary Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani, and Tripura Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha.
The conference marks a significant step in boosting the cooperative movement in Tripura, showcasing the government’s commitment to empowering rural communities and advancing cooperative-based initiatives.
